Introducing Artemis Risk Scores: Unlocking a World of Possibilities

In the world of healthcare benefits, the ability to measure risk is critical for clients to proactively manage population health and anticipate healthcare costs. Risk scores provide a way to do just that—they distill medical claims, prescription drug, and demographic data into a numerical indicator of relative risk, serving as a helpful benchmarking tool and way to stratify a population by risk burden.

Today, we are proud to announce that Artemis Risk Scores1 is available to all clients on our Platform. While we have previously relied on risk scoring methodology provided by third parties, our data science team realized that the direction and pace healthcare is moving in requires methodology that can keep up. In the spirit of continuous innovation, here are some of the things Artemis Risk Scores allows us to do that we are particularly excited about:

1. Demystify the data: Centered around the principle of hyper-transparency, our proprietary risk score model gives us full control of and insight into the data science behind it, which we can in turn provide to our clients.  

2. Customize metrics: With increased transparency and control comes the ability to customize. In the future, we'll have the option to tailor risk scoring methodologies to meet specific needs and quickly react to emerging trends.

3. Enrich Further: Artemis Risk Scores opens up possibilities for enrichment that industry-standard risk scores simply do not allow, like coupling nonclinical social determinants of health data with traditional clinical data for an even more well-rounded picture of an individual’s risk burden.
